Fabian Käser is head of the Swiss Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries (KFPE) at the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences in Bern. From 2014 to 2019, he worked as an assistant at the Institute of Social Anthropology at the University of Bern, where he completed his PhD in 2018. In his dissertation, which was part of an interdisciplinary and international research project, he analysed how smallholder farmers in Kenya are interconnected with global food systems and how this influences the sustainability of food systems. For his Master's thesis, he studied the impacts of land deals on local livelihoods. As head of KFPE, he is committed to promoting fair and efficient research cooperation between Switzerland and low- and middle-income countries.
