Johanna Mugler joined the Department of Social Anthropology in September 2012. Her research and teaching interests are in the fields of organizational studies, anthropology of the state, legal anthropology and sociology of quantification. She is a member of the International Max-Planck Research School on Retaliation, Mediation and Punishment and a doctoral student at the Martin-Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. She earned her post-graduate degrees at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Cape Town.
